Give to the Max is today November 17 – support BIBACH!
Dear friend,
As a declared supporter of cultural programming, you are vital to the continued success of the Balkanicus Institute for Balkan Art, Culture and History (BIBACH). We need your help to bring the thirteenth Balkan chamber music concert Balkanicus on April 29, 2017, and the second edition of Dance the Balkan Way, a folk dance workshop and festival in October 2017.
Over the last year we brought to you the twelfth Balkanicus, an exhibition on the power of the civil society and the struggle against the Holocaust in Bulgaria and Dance the Balkan Way, a folk dance workshop and festival in October 2016. The participants in those events told us we should continue to bring them to Minnesota. We are grateful to the volunteers who made this possible and the fine organizations that collaborated with us on these projects as well as the generous grants from MRAC and from you.
Balkanicus is the first and only concert series of its kind in Minnesota and North America. We start preparing a year in advance to bring you international composers and pieces never before performed outside of the Balkans.
Our newer program, Dance the Balkan Way, had great success when we organized it for the first time last month for the folk dancers and Balkan community in Minnesota. It was a celebration of our diverse yet close dance cultures.
We could not organize a symposium on the migration patterns on and from the Balkans for lack of money and this could be the new project we work on this year if you support us.
Give to the Max Day is November 17th, 2016. Each hour on Give to the Max Day, one Golden Ticket of $1,000 will be awarded through a random drawing of all donations transacted during the previous hour. Additionally, two Super-Sized Golden Tickets of $10,000 each will be awarded. The first will be drawn randomly from all successfully-processed donations scheduled through GiveMN.org between 12:00am November 1, 2016 and 11:59pm on November 16, 2016. The second will be drawn randomly from all gifts successfully processed on November 17, 2016.
