Over 1,000 people have gathered in the seaside village of Kamen Bryag, Northeastern Bulgaria, ahead of the July Morning celebration 2010.
In Bulgaria there is a tradition called July Morning as an echo from the hippy era. People from all over the country gather on the Black Sea coast to meet the sunrise on July 1. The main refrain is Uriah Heep’s July Morning song.

Bulgaria is poised to make a sea change from its hopes of acceding to the euro zone, in favour of adopting the Russian rouble. Plans are for the lev to have made way for the Russian currency one year from today’s date.

On March 5th, 2010 Laura Chukanov (Miss Utah USA 2009) hosted a benefit concert organized by a Utah non-profit organization called One Heart Bulgaria. The concert included four local performers: Critter, Sam Payne, Mindy Gledhill, and Peter Breinholt.

Laura introduced the musical guests, spoke of her Bulgarian heritage, and encouraged the audience to get involved with One Heart Bulgaria.
