Brief info:

The event is organized by Bulpros, a fast-growing IT Services company started five years ago. Bulpros CEO Ivaylo Slavov will be holding a workshop at 1871, the Chicago startup community of which the firm is the first Bulgarian Member, on the topic of the practical challenges of leading an IT company from startup to SME status. Ivaylo will focus on the particular issues that he as CEO faced at various stages of the firm’s growth, and on how leading a services company differs from leading a product company (as Bulpros now combines both types of offerings).

Since the establishment of Bulpros, the company has grown from 5 to more than 500 FT employees, and over 1,000 part-timers and contractors. Its clients and partners range from the likes of Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, and other large MNC companies, to a variety of mid-sized, smaller and startup firms. In addition to services, Bulpros has started developing its own innovative products, such as a connector between Cisco infrastructure and productivity suites like IBM Connections and SharePoint called Jabborate, and an ERP system for recruitment agencies called Staffico.

Bulpros CEO Ivaylo Slavov is a highly skilled entrepreneur and corporate executive specialized both in developing start-up and established organizations. He has more than twenty years of international experience in the fields of Information Technology, Financial Services, IT-Outsourcing, Business Process Outsourcing and Human Resources. He co-founded Bulpros in April 2010. Prior to Bulpros he spent 17 years in various managerial roles at a number of MNCs. At Microsoft Germany he led the “Financial Services and Manufacturing” business lines. Prior to Microsoft he managed the Banking business within the Unisys Central European Financial Services unit. At Comparex (former PC Ware) he took direct responsibility for the Professional Services business in EMEA. Prior to Bulpros he was CEO of Adecco for Central and Eastern Europe.”
