Rededication of MPO

Saturday Afternoon Join us as we rededicate these two symbols and reflect on the past 90 years of MPO history and achievement. The Macedonian Museum will be open for tours. You can marvel at the Line-a-Type used for decades to set the TRIBUNE, admire the various costumes from villages all over Macdonia and browse the many volumes in the library.

Picnic at the Zoo – Sunday Afternoon

A trolley bus will pick up conventioneers at the hotel and travel to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church for Divine Services.

The next stop will be the nationally acclaimed Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and a Port-a-Pit lunch. The zoo offers many attractions including rides, exhibits an African Safari where you can try your hand at feeding a giraffe. An experience you won’t soon forget!

FRIDAY EVENTS:

Friday’s Dance, Auction and 13th Annual Zelnick Contest

Bring your favorite Zelnick for judging and sharing. Yours may be the next name inscribed on the Zelnick Master Chefs plaque. Hotel staff will heat them. Mark your name on the pan with something that can be refrigerated and baked.

Join in the fun at the auction, bid often and high before your favorite items are gone.

Former TRIBUNE Editor Dr. Lubomir Todorov is Grand Banquet Speaker

On the occasion of the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the Macedonian Patriotic Organization, the Central Committee is pleased to have former TRIBUNE editor and former Central Committee member Lubomir Todorov give the keynote address at the 91st Convention Grand Banquet. Dr. Todorov was instrumental in the publication of the Macedonian Tribune Page One: Major Events of the 20th Century book.

Known as the Macedonian Pavarotti among Nostalgic Song Fest attendees, he enjoys singing with his wife Irina and children Nadia and Todor. Together the proud couple are raising their children in a traditional household speaking the language and keeping their culture alive.
